At Oasis Church, we are a Christ-centered community committed to sharing the hope and love of Jesus Christ with all. Our beliefs are rooted in the Bible and reflect the truths we hold dear as we seek to be a refuge for those navigating the deserts of life. We affirm and align with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 (BF&M 2000), which provides a comprehensive summary of our core beliefs and doctrinal positions.
We believe the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, serving as our ultimate authority for faith and practice. It is God’s revelation to humanity, providing guidance, wisdom, and truth.
We believe in one God, who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God the Father is the sovereign Creator of all things. Jesus Christ, the Son, is fully God and fully man, who came to earth to redeem humanity. The Holy Spirit is the presence of God with us, guiding, convicting, and empowering believers.
We believe that every person is created in the image of God, yet all have sinned and fallen short of His glory. Our sin separates us from God, but through Jesus Christ, we can be reconciled to Him.
We believe that salvation is a gift from God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Through His sacrificial death and resurrection, Jesus conquered sin and death, offering eternal life to all who believe in Him.
We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all believers. The local church, like Oasis Church, is an autonomous community of believers who gather for worship, teaching, fellowship, and service. We are committed to being a welcoming and loving community where individuals can grow in their faith.
We believe in two ordinances: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism by immersion symbolizes the believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Lord’s Supper is a time of remembrance, reflecting on Christ’s sacrifice and proclaiming His return.
We believe in the present and future reign of God’s Kingdom. While God’s Kingdom is already at work in the world through His Church, it will be fully realized with the return of Jesus Christ.
We believe that Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to the earth. There will be a resurrection of the dead, final judgment, and the eternal destinies of heaven or hell. We look forward to eternal life with God in the new heaven and new earth.
We believe it is our mission to share the good news of Jesus Christ with all people. We are committed to making disciples, both locally and globally, as we live out the Great Commission.
We believe that the Christian life is one of growing in grace and holiness. As we follow Christ, we strive to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. We value authenticity, relationships, and service to others as expressions of our faith.
We believe that the family is a divine institution established by God. Marriage is the union of one man and one woman, and the family is the primary context for the nurture and spiritual growth of children.
